Instalar o desinstalar Gnome, KDE o XFCE en ubuntu

Hay veces en las que queremos cambiar el escritorio de nuestro ubuntu. Y aunque tengamos una distribución Kubuntu (con Kde), Ubuntu (con Gnome) o Xubuntu (con Xfce), no significa que no podamos cambiar el escritorio. En este artículo vamos a ver como cambiar de escritorio en ubuntu o lo que es lo mismo, como cambiar de distribución de ubuntu.

Aunque hay un paquete que instala todos los paquetes necesarios de cada escritorio en ubuntu, para desinstalarlo no vale con desinstalar este paquete. Sino que hay que desinstalar todos los paquetes y como en cada versión de ubuntu, los programas por defecto han variado, para quitar cada escritorio tendremos que desinstalar unos paquetes u otros. A continuación tenemos los comandos para desinstalar e instalar cada escritorio para todas las distribuciones de ubuntu:

• En Ubuntu Lucid (10.04):
  • Instalar Gnome:
    >> sudo apt-get install ubuntu-desktop

  • Desinstalar Gnome:
